100wc

I walked up onto the stage with my speech tucked under my arm I took a deep breath and stepped
onto the podium. I placed down my speech and started to read it out but nothing came out, no loud
confident voice I had been used to when I had practiced reading it outloud to my parents! Then the
crowd erupted with laughter, I felt the blood rush to my face turning me beetroot red, I started panicking
and felt sweat dripping down the back of my neck. And that was the last time I ever entered a speech
contest.

100wc week 1

As smoke climbed higher into the sky, the ground started rumbling. Sirens went off. We gathered
everything that we had packed for when the sirens went off ,into the back of our van. Photo albums,
ornaments, old pictures of relatives, clothes, food, cups, bowls and nana. As we zoomed down the
highway, it all began. The volcano erupted and dad pushed his foot flat on the accelerator. We flew
over the hills in the country and made it to grandads house in the safe zone. Grandad helped us out
of the car, we got out very shaken up but safe.
